WINTER RETREAT on MEDICINE BUDDHA

The 2024 winter retreat, dedicated to Medicine Buddha is open on-site and online.
During this retreat we focus on the practice of Medicine Buddha. In the beginning of the daily fourth session there will be teachings on the sadhana and the quality of Medicine Buddha.
Sickness is a common suffering of all living beings. However, according to Tibetan medicine, most illnesses are psychosomatic and, according to Buddhism, many types of mental and physical illnesses are actually generated largely by one’s unwholesome attitude, and cannot be cured by conventional medicine alone; on the other side, there’s a connection between wholesome thoughts, your health and happiness. The Buddha taught a form of meditation for people suffering from diseases by using a practice of a sacred mantra and meditation based on Medicine Buddha. This profound meditation technique will complement any form of medical treatment, and can reduce the side effects and increase the effectiveness of any medication.
PARTICIPATION PREREQUISITES FOR TEACHINGS & MEDITATION SESSIONS:
Those who
– have already received the initiation of Medicine Buddha from a qualified master
– OR will participate in the initiation of Medicine Buddha conferred by Khenpo Tashi Sangpo Lag at the beginning of the retreat on 26.12. at 16.00 o’clock to the participants in the temple (without streaming)
TRANSLATIONS:
The teachings will be given in English and translated into French.
Translations in another language – Italian, German, and Dutch– will be arranged if we receive a min. number of requests per language by 10 December 2024.

10.00 – 11.30 Meditation on Medicine Buddha
14.00 – 15.30 Meditation on Medicine Buddha
17.00 – 18.00 Teaching on the sadhana and quality of Medicine Buddha
18.00 – 19.00 Meditation on Medicine Buddha & Mahakala ritual.

07.00 – 08.00 Meditation on Medicine Buddha & Long-life prayers for Their Holinesses
End of the retreat.

CONTRIBUTION:
Min. € 70.- for online or on-site retreat (not including food and accommodation).
