Jamyang Khyentse Wangchuk (1524 – 1568) was a disciple of Tsarchen Losal Gyatso (1502 – 1566), whose oral teachings on Mitrayogin’s source text he recorded in these “Notes”. Rather than simply commenting on the meaning of the twenty-five verses, these teachings provide a guide for actually putting their essential message into practice.

Mitrayogin’s deep wish was that beings could be free from suffering and relax their mind, which is possible through method and wisdom. With this motivation, he composed the twenty-five verses.

In preparation for resting in the nature of mind, we practice Guru yoga, which is also explained by Khenpo Tashi. In Vajrayana, guru yoga is a devotional practice in which the practitioner unites his/her mind stream with the mind stream of body, speech and mind of his/her guru. The process of guru yoga involves the visualisation of a tree of refuge as a summoning of the lineage, with the root guru channeling the blessings of the entire lineage to the practitioner.

During the weekend, we receive the Vajrasattva blessing of Khenpo Tashi.

The Vajrasattva practice is used to purify obscurations for further development on the path of dharma and also to purify broken samaya vows. Vajrasattva practice is an essential element of Tibetan Buddhist practice.

We ask you to be present 15 minutes before the start each time. The teachings are given in English and translated into Dutch.

Saturday and Sunday, at noon, you are welcome to have lunch at the centre. Khenpo Tashi will be present at the lunches.

It is possible to contribute to a joint donation for Khenpo Tashi afterwards.
