In Tibetan Buddhism, death is not viewed as an end, but as a crucial transition that offers extraordinary potential for liberation. In this weekend seminar, we explore how confronting our mortality can deepen our appreciation for life and accelerate spiritual growth. We discuss contemplative practices on impermanence and death that help us create a meaningful life, as well as traditional teachings on the bardo (the transitional phases of consciousness), with emphasis on the stages of the dying process.

Seminar Topics:

•  Understanding the Tibetan Buddhist view of death as an opportunity for enlightenment

•  Contemplative practices for confronting impermanence and appreciating our present life

•  The stages of dying and bardo states according to traditional texts

•  Thoughts on personal preparation and supporting others
