His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin Ratna Vajra Rinpoche
who will honour us with His presence on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July 2025.
Saturday 5.7.: Guru Rinpoche’s day (the 10th day of the lunar calendar)
10.00 – 12.00: Guru Rinpoche Padmasambhava initiation
15.00 – 17.00: teachings on Guru Rinpoche’s seven-line prayer, Tsog offering; followed by kagoh blessing
Just after Padmasambhava was born out of a lotus flower on the lake of Dhanakosha, the king of Oddiyana saw the child and questioned him about his parents, his family line, his name and country, his sustenance and what he was doing there. The boy sang his reply in an enchanting voice: “My father is the pure awareness of rigpa, Samantabhadra; my mother, the space of all things, Samantabhadri; my line, the indivisibility of awareness and space; my name, the glorious Lotus-born; my homeland, the unborn Dharmadhatu; my sustenance, consuming dualistic thoughts; my destiny, to accomplish the actions of the Buddhas of past, present and future.”
To conclude there will be the short and powerful Kagoh blessing in relation to Vajrakilaya to remove all obstacles and difficulties.
Sunday 6.7:
10.00 – 12.00: conferral of refuge & Bodhisattva vows
14.30 – 16.30: Teachings on the refuge & Bodhisattva vows
The Bodhisattva vows are the root of the Mahayana path, in which Bodhicitta – the mind of enlightenment that aspires and strives with determination to realise its enlightened nature for the benefit of all beings – is generated. The essence of the vows are love, compassion and Bodhicitta, which are the factors to be cultivated after receiving the vows.

How to get to the Sala Teatro Piccola Fenice
For those arriving from outside Trieste and travelling by car, it is not advisable to park immediately next to the Sala, but there is the Saba Foro Ulpiano car park just a few minutes’ walk away (opposite the Law Courts).
For those travelling by train, Trieste’s Central Station is a 15-minute walk away, and it is possible to take bus no. 6 next to the Station and stop in Via Battisti (Galleria Fenice).
For those interested, His Holiness will also give teachings and initiations at the Thupten Changchup Ling Buddhist Centre in Arosio/Switzerland and the Sakya Ngon Ga Ling in Tuscany.
