SUMMARY:TEACHING AND INITIATION OF AYUTTARA (AMITAYUS) and the nine aspects
DESCRIPTION:Teachings by: KHENPO TASHI SANGPO \n\n\n\nDate: Fri. – Sun. 01.11 – 03.11 \n\n\n\nTime: (Fri.): 19:30-21:30; Sat. and Sun. 10:00-12:00 and from 14:30-16:30. \n\n\n\nLocation: Sakya Thegchen Ling\, The Hague\, Holland \n\n\n\nLanguage: ENG \n\n\n\nAvailable translation: Dutch \n\n\n\nKosten : €15 per half-day session (minima €7). \n\n\n\n\nAmitayus – the Buddha of Infinite Life – and Amitabha – the Buddha of Infinite Light – are essentially identical because they are each other’s mirror image. Sutras in which Gautama Buddha expounds the glories of Sukhavati\, the Pure Lands\, sometimes refer to the presiding Buddha as Amitabha and sometimes as Amitayus. As Amitayus\, he is depicted in fine clothes and jewellery and as Amitabha in simple monk’s clothes. In Chinese and Japanese tradition\, they are also known as Amida. \n\n\n\nThe name Amitayus is the name for the Sambhogakaya aspect of Amitabha and is particularly associated with long life. He is usually depicted seated with a vase containing the nectar of immortality in his hands. In Tibetan Buddhism\, Amitayus is also one of the three deities of long life (Amitayus\, White Tara and Ushnishavijaya). Amitayus is a compound of amita (‘infinite’) and ayus (‘life’)\, and thus means ‘he whose life is boundless’. \n\n\n\nIn the first four weeks after the teaching\, there will be joint practice from the centre once a week. \n\n\n\nRegistration: https://forms.office.com/e/bLQv4MKPEe

What you think\, you become.” -Vasubandhu \n\n\n\nThe Buddha’s teachings are traditionally classified into three collections: Vinaya\, Sutra\, and Abhidharma.  \n\n\n\nAbhidharma is a collection of the Buddha’s highest teachings focused on wisdom training. It examines the nature of reality\, the mind\, and mental phenomena\, guiding us toward a deeper understanding of the nature of reality. Its profound insights into the workings of consciousness and the essence of existence\, provide a comprehensive framework for understanding Buddhist psychology and philosophy across all three vehicles or yanas. \n\n\n\nIn this course\, His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin will focus on the Treasury of Abhidharma or Abhidharmakośa\, authored by Vasubandhu\, a prominent Indian Buddhist scholar and master from the 4th or 5th century. Abhidharmakośa\, considered one of the thirteen great texts utilized as the core curriculum in most traditional Tibetan Buddhist centers for teaching or shedras\, serves as a seminal work in the Mahayana tradition. It provides a structured overview of Abhidharma teachings and is extensively studied by all Tibetan traditions. \n\n\n\nThe vast teachings of Abhidharma and Buddhist psychology provide a path to a clear and deep view of the nature of reality\, bringing us closer to understanding our minds and freeing ourselves from suffering. The study of\, including texts like the Abhidharmakośa\, equips practitioners with invaluable insights and tools to deepen their spiritual journey\, foster wisdom\, and lead a more meaningful and fulfilling life. \n\n\n\nThese lessons will bring you closer to: \n\n\n\n  •  A deeper understanding of your emotions and thoughts.  •  Cultivating a stable meditation practice.  •  Distilling the profound teachings of Tibetan Buddhism.  •  Learning about the doctrinal differences between the ancient Buddhist schools.  •  Exploring consciousness and mental processes.  •  Analysing the nature of reality.  •  Connecting with the law of karma\, impermanence\, and emptiness. \n\n\n\nThe reference texts can be downloaded HERE \n\n\n\nJoin us at the temple in Arosio (CH): \n\n\n\nPlease register at least two days before the event to participate in person in Arosio (using the link below). \n\n\n\n\nAROSIO\n\n\n\n\nRegister in advance for this meeting on Zoom at least one day in advance. \n\n\n\nYou will receive a confirmation email from “Sakya Dharma Family Admin” with the Zoom link to participate (click “Click Here To Join”) on the day of the event. \n\n\n\n\nZOOM

SUMMARY:MEDICINE BUDDHA – TEACHINGS & INITIATION
DESCRIPTION:Teachings by: KHENPO TASHI SANGPO \n\n\n\nDate: SAT-SUN 9./10. NOVEMBER 2024 \n\n\n\nTime: Saturday & Sunday 10.00 – 12.00 & 13.30 – 15.30 \n\n\n\nPlace: Thupten Changchup Ling\, Arosio/CH\, SENZA STREAMING \n\n\n\nLanguage: EN \n\n\n\nAvailable translation: IT \n\n\n\nSuggested donation: 30 CHF / 25€ \n\n\n\n\nSickness is a common suffering of all living beings. However\, according to Tibetan medicine\, most illnesses are psychosomatic and\, according to Buddhism\, many types of mental and physical illnesses are actually generated largely by one’s unwholesome attitude\, and cannot be cured by conventional medicine alone; on the other side\, there’s a connection between wholesome thoughts\, your health and happiness. The Buddha taught a form of meditation for people suffering from diseases by using a practice of a sacred mantra and meditation based on Medicine Buddha. This profound meditation technique will complement any form of medical treatment\, and can reduce the side effects and increase the effectiveness of any medication.  \n\n\n\nJoin us at the temple in Arosio (CH): \n\n\n\nPlease register at least two days before the event to participate in person in Arosio (using the link below). \n\n\n\n\nAROSIO
