In a state of unawareness and confusion\, we can only guess what will be helpful for us or for someone else\, and often we’re wrong. Its profound insights into the workings of consciousness and the essence of existence\, provide a comprehensive framework for understanding Buddhist psychology and philosophy across all three vehicles or yanas. \n\n\n\nIn this course\, His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin will focus on the Treasury of Abhidharma or Abhidharmakośa\, authored by Vasubandhu\, a prominent Indian Buddhist scholar and master from the 4th or 5th century. Abhidharmakośa\, considered one of the thirteen great texts utilized as the core curriculum in most traditional Tibetan Buddhist centers for teaching or shedras\, serves as a seminal work in the Mahayana tradition. The boy sang his reply in an enchanting voice: “My father is the pure awareness of rigpa\, Samantabhadra; my mother\, the space of all things\, Samantabhadri; my line\, the indivisibility of awareness and space; my name\, the glorious Lotus-born; my homeland\, the unborn Dharmadhatu; my sustenance\, consuming dualistic thoughts; my destiny\, to accomplish the actions of the Buddhas of past\, present and future.” \n\n\n\nTo conclude there will be the short and powerful Kagoh blessing in relation to Vajrakilaya to remove all obstacles and difficulties. \n\n\n\nSunday 6.7: \n\n\n\n10.00 – 12.00: conferral of refuge & Bodhisattva vows \n\n\n\n14.30 – 16.30: Teachings on the refuge & Bodhisattva vows \n\n\n\nThe Bodhisattva vows are the root of the Mahayana path\, in which Bodhicitta – the mind of enlightenment that aspires and strives with determination to realise its enlightened nature for the benefit of all beings – is generated. Its profound insights into the workings of consciousness and the essence of existence\, provide a comprehensive framework for understanding Buddhist psychology and philosophy across all three vehicles or yanas. \n\n\n\nIn this course\, His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin will focus on the Treasury of Abhidharma or Abhidharmakośa\, authored by Vasubandhu\, a prominent Indian Buddhist scholar and master from the 4th or 5th century. Abhidharmakośa\, considered one of the thirteen great texts utilized as the core curriculum in most traditional Tibetan Buddhist centers for teaching or shedras\, serves as a seminal work in the Mahayana tradition. It provides a structured overview of Abhidharma teachings and is extensively studied by all Tibetan traditions. \n\n\n\nThe vast teachings of Abhidharma and Buddhist psychology provide a path to a clear and deep view of the nature of reality\, bringing us closer to understanding our minds and freeing ourselves from suffering.
