SUMMARY:DANCING WITH ONE'S DEMONS: INSPIRED BY THE TEACHINGS OF MACHIG LABDRON
DESCRIPTION:Undervisning med MIKE BORTOLOTTI \n\n\n\nDatum: Fredag – söndag / 20 – 22 SEPTEMBER \n\n\n\nTid: Fredag 19.00 – 20.30\, lördag och söndag 10.00 – 12.00 & 14.00 – 16.30 \n\n\n\nPlats: Sakya Changchub Chöling\, Lill-Jans plan 3 Stockholm\, NO STREAMING \n\n\n\nSpråk: Undervisningen ges på engelska\, obs ingen översättningen till svenska \n\n\n\n\nAnmälan till info@sakya.se senast 13/9 \n\n\n\nSå här beskriver Mike helgens undervisning: \n\n\n\nBoth in spiritual life and in ordinary life\, we are daily confronted with a multitude of mental states\, not always easy to manage. We often find ourselves overwhelmed by strong emotions\, anxieties\, fears\, obsessions\, desires\, hopes\, sadness\, disorders\, difficulties\, and so on. There are various ways to deal with these mental states\, which we here call “demons\,” and the ancient Tibetan science of the mind offers us extremely effective methods that allow us to work with them from different angles.  \n\n\n\nIt is primarily important to know one’s mental structures and the mechanisms that induce disturbed states\, and secondarily learn to use the various emotions in the most constructive way. Demons can destroy us but can also lead us to a very deep understanding of ourselves and consequently to a state of deep peace and awareness. \n\n\n\nThe journey towards the knowledge of our most sacred and profound nature necessarily involves confronting one’s own shadows. The great Tibetan Yogini Machig Labdron\, as early as 1200 A.D.\, developed a unique system of spiritual practice that is based primarily on encountering one’s own demons and has inspired generations of meditators to this day.

It celebrates Buddha Shakyamuni’s enlightenment and Parinirvana. It is one of the most powerful days of the year and being together to practise and recite the special prayers generates boundless merit\, which we will dedicate in particular to universal peace and the benefit of all sentient beings.  \n\n\n\nYou are all welcome to participate so that together we can make our indirect contribution to pacifying the difficulties the world is facing. You may certainly also participate in just one part of the evening. \n\n\n\nThe prayers recited can be downloaded HERE . \n\n\n\nOn his enlightenment at the age of thirty-five in Bodhgaya\, the Buddha proclaimed: \n\n\n\n“Profound peace\, natural simplicity\, uncompounded luminosity\, I have found a nectar-like Dharma.” \n\n\n\nWhen Buddha lay dying in a forest grove in Kushinagara\, surrounded by five hundred of his disciples\, he said to them with his last breath: \n\n\n\n“It is in the nature of all things that take form to dissolve again. Strive with your whole being to attain perfection.” \n\n\n\nJoin us at the temple in Arosio (CH): \n\n\n\nPlease register at least two days before the event to participate in person in Arosio (using the link below). \n\n\n\n\nAROSIO\n\n\n\n\nRegister in advance for this meeting on Zoom at least one day in advance. \n\n\n\nYou will receive a confirmation email from “Sakya Dharma Family Admin” with the Zoom link to participate (click “Click Here To Join”) on the day of the event. \n\n\n\n\nZOOM

Shamatha teaches us how to calm our constantly active mind and how to develop calmness\, clarity and concentration. Compassion is one of the four immeasurables. It is defined as the wish that others might be free from suffering and its causes. Our innate capacity for empathy is the source of that most precious of all human qualities. In this beginners course we will use the meditation on Avalokiteshvara to develop compassion. \n\n\n\nThe practical composition and constructive structure ensures that after the course you can continue to meditate independently at home with the help of the handouts. Meditating with each other is guided and then mainly in silence with feedback moments. We also pay attention to your posture. The course is given in the Sakya center and via the online platform Jitsi\, we meditate on a chair\, cushion or bench. Mats\, meditation cushions and benches are provided. Please bring your own pair of warm socks and/or shawl. \n\n\n\nCOST \n\n\n\n€ 10 per morning; 5 euros for people with a minimum income. Meditating with each other is guided and then mainly in silence with feedback moments. We also pay attention to your posture. The course is given in the Sakya center and via the online platform Jitsi\, we meditate on a chair\, cushion or bench. Mats\, meditation cushions and benches are provided. SUMMARY:„NOTES ON RESTING IN THE NATURE OF MIND” by JAMYANG KHYENTSE WANGCHUK
DESCRIPTION:Teachings by: KHENPO TASHI SANGPO \n\n\n\nDate: FRI-SUN / 22 – 24 MARCH \n\n\n\nTime: Friday 20.00 – 21.30\, Saturday & Sunday 10.00 – 12.00 & 14.30 – 16.30 \n\n\n\nPlace: Sakya Thegchen Ling\, Den Haag & Streaming: Jitsi (upon registration\, you receive a link) \n\n\n\nLanguage: EN \n\n\n\nAvailable translations: NL \n\n\n\nDonation: every half-day: € 10\,- (€ 5\,- for people with minimum income). \n\n\n\n\nJamyang Khyentse Wangchuk (1524 – 1568) was a disciple of Tsarchen Losal Gyatso (1502 – 1566)\, whose oral teachings on Mitrayogin’s source text he recorded in these “Notes”. Rather than simply commenting on the meaning of the twenty-five verses\, these teachings provide a guide for actually putting their essential message into practice. \n\n\n\nMitrayogin’s deep wish was that beings could be free from suffering and relax their mind\, which is possible through method and wisdom. With this motivation\, he composed the twenty-five verses. \n\n\n\nIn preparation for resting in the nature of mind\, we practice Guru yoga\, which is also explained by Khenpo Tashi. In Vajrayana\, guru yoga is a devotional practice in which the practitioner unites his/her mind stream with the mind stream of body\, speech and mind of his/her guru. The process of guru yoga involves the visualisation of a tree of refuge as a summoning of the lineage\, with the root guru channeling the blessings of the entire lineage to the practitioner. \n\n\n\nDuring the weekend\, we receive the Vajrasattva blessing of Khenpo Tashi. \n\n\n\nThe Vajrasattva practice is used to purify obscurations for further development on the path of dharma and also to purify broken samaya vows. Vajrasattva practice is an essential element of Tibetan Buddhist practice. \n\n\n\nWe ask you to be present 15 minutes before the start each time. The teachings are given in English and translated into Dutch. \n\n\n\nSaturday and Sunday\, at noon\, you are welcome to have lunch at the centre. Khenpo Tashi will be present at the lunches. \n\n\n\nIt is possible to contribute to a joint donation for Khenpo Tashi afterwards. \n\n\n\nRegistration: link
